  • Match report Ospreys Under 18 Women's Team

    Fri 22 Feb 2019 Mrs Cox-Wall

Last minute victory in a thrilling contest ensured the win for the Ospreys at the Sardis Road ground.

There were tries from Taylor and Katie and a strong kicking game to secure a win in the last two minutes.

This takes the Ospreys to the top of the table.

Our own Jaya White put in some powerful carries to gain ground and improve territory for the Ospreys.

After several more passages of play the Ospreys were on even terms and went on to secure the victory.

  • Young Writers success

    Sat 16 Feb 2019 Mrs Cox-Wall

Our new literacy leader and English teacher Ms Lawrence has been very busy across all our key stages encouraging the development of writing using the excellent resources from Young Writers: https://www.youngwriters.co.uk/about-young-writers

Our pupils have shown real talent and potential for the future with work chosen for publication in future anthologies by:

    Key Stage 2

Lucas, Riley, Ioan and Kadyn and their “Spooky Sagas” which will be published soon,

    Key Stage 3

Teilo and Codylee for their “Catastrophe” stories, also to be published shortly.

Well done to all of you and we look forward to seeing the published books. Thank you to Ms Lawrence too, looking forward to our World Book Day celebrations next!

  • Jaya scores again (twice)!

    Mon 11 Feb 2019 Mrs Cox-Wall

Jaya was selected for the Sunday match, playing for the Opsreys Under 18 Women's team against the Dragons U18s Women.

Several girls scored tries and our own pupil Jaya scored twice and helped the Ospreys towards a convincing win over the Dragons at Ystrad Mynach Centre of Sporting Excellence.

The article on the Ospreys website reads "a solid scrum from the pack saw number 8 Jaya White pick up and smash her way through the Dragons' defence. Backed up with strong support from the backs, they took play closer to the halfway line before a knock on in the centre gifted the Dragons the scrum".

The second half was even more exciting; "the Dragons full back struggled to gather and an unlucky bounce for the hosts saw Lowri Davies with the pick up and a quick offload to Jaya White saw the number 8 score her second try of the game."

Heroic! Well done! The result of training, team work and trying (or perseverance if I didn't need a word beginning with t!)
