Admission to The Bridge

Parents/carers are not able to apply directly to The Bridge Alternative Provision.

 *Parents/carers are welcome to visit The Bridge at any point during the application process, please ring to make an appointment.

Application Process

The pupil's own school makes an application for a placement, with information, advice and guidance from parents, teachers, support staff, the BESD/ASD/SALT team, the Education Psychology service and any other professionals such as CAMHS.

Applications for placement in Revolving Door Primary BESD, KS3 BESD or KS4 BESD provision are made to the monthly Access to Education panel, a multi agency panel hosted by the Education and Family Directorate of the Local Authority. Applications for placement in MAPHR (Mental and Physical Health Recovery) are made to the monthly CAMHS and Complex Medical panel which reports to the Access to Education Panel.

Decisions about placement are communicated to the school by Business Support.

Applications for tuition are also heard at this Panel, a draft tuition policy is being prepared by the Local Authority.

 

*Pupils aged 11-19 years are placed in the CAMHS Unit at Ty Llidiard, Princess of Wales Hospital by a clinical team.
