Our Rights Respecting Schools Journey

The Bridge Alternative Provision is a Rights Respecting School as you know, we are currently working on gaining our next stage award, level 1. This stage is a challenge as the structures are in place but the practice has to be embedded into daily work and school life. We also have a transient population and have to maintain momentum with a turnover of pupils.

What have we achieved so far this year? Some examples!

A member of our new EOTAS KS4 group has attended Bridgend Youth Council and shared his experiences of being out of school but still wanting to learn #article28 your right to learn and go to school

Our KS3 Revolving Door pupils have named and designed a poster for our new “Text&Tell” line for sharing worries about themselves or friends #article19 you should be safe from harm

Ty Llidiard pupils in our hospital provision have recently been to the cinema to watch a film of their choice with Into Film Cymru, this is a significant challenge for very unwell young people #article 15 you have the right to meet friends and join clubs

We hope to achieve Stage 1 in the spring term 2018 with continued hard work!
